NATURE OF PROPOSED CHANGES: The Department plans to add reimbursement for Foster Care Comprehensive Health Assessments (CHAs) and amend existing reimbursement for Child Abuse Evaluations in accordance with the table below.

Additionally, the Department will apply an annual cost-of-living adjustment equal to the annual increase in the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W), for the Northeast Region, or its successor index, as published by the United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics or its successor agency, every July 1st for any rates that did not receive an adjustment within the previous twelve months.
REASON FOR PROPOSED CHANGES: Changes are pursuant to fb88 P.L. 2019, ch.162, An Act To Ensure the Provision of Medical Assessments for Youth in Foster Care and feedback from interested parties.
ESTIMATE OF ANY EXPECTED INCREASE OR DECREASE IN ANNUAL AGGREGATE EXPENDITURES: The Department anticipates that this change will cost $429,365 in federal fiscal year 2024 which includes $273,447 in federal funds and $155,918 in state funds, and will cost $1,717,458 in federal fiscal year 2025 which includes $1,084,731 in federal funds and $632,727 in state funds.
ACCESS TO PROPOSED CHANGES AND COMMENTS TO PROPOSED CHANGES:Ìý The public may review the proposed methodology changes and written comments at any fb88 DHHS office in every fb88 county. The Department will hold a hearing for the proposed rulemaking and will be publishing a notice which includes information on the hearing date and location.
