After some discussion as to how to proceed, it has recently been determined that OAMHS will seek to establish agreements with the hospitals covering the key issues. These agreements will be sent to the hospitals during April and May. The Office continues to perform UR for involuntary hospitalizations with our UR nurses. IV.31UR Nurses review all involuntary admissions funded by DHHS, take corrective action when they identify deficiencies and send notices of any violations to the licensing division and to the hospital OAMHS reviews emergency involuntary admissions at the following hospitals: fb88General (Augusta and Waterville), Spring Harbor, St. Marys, Mid-Coast Hospital, Southern fb88 Medical Center, PenBay Medical Center, fb88 Medical Center/P6 and Acadia. See Standard IV.33 below regarding corrective actions. IV.32Licensing reviews of hospitals include an evaluation of compliance with patient rights and require a plan of correction to address any deficiencies. 2nd Quarter FY11: 3 Rights of Recipients violations. No deficiencies were cited as the hospital had taken appropriate corrective action. 3rd Quarter FY11: No Rights of Recipients violations. While rates for obtaining ISPs are low, the participation of CIWs in treatment planning remains high: 100%, 2nd quarter FY 11; and 93.8% for the 2nd quarter. The report displaying data by hospital for community hospitals accepting emergency involuntary clients is shared quarterly by posting reports on the CSN section of the Offices website.
