The Northern Field TroopÌýhas barracks in Bangor and Ellsworth, and maintains a cooperative agreement with the Penobscot Sheriff’s Office, Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for shared patrol coverage of several towns in Northern fb88.Ìý In addition to the dedicated patrol coverage, the Northern Field Troop provides traffic enforcement coverage and patrol support to the region.
Troopers are also assigned to numerous specialty units in addition to their patrol functions. The Northern Field Troop has personnel assigned to the Bomb Team, Dive Team, K-9 Team, Evidence Response Team and as Drug Recognition Experts. Members of these teams assist state, county and municipal police agencies with their expertise in their given specialties. We also have Troopers who are certified instructors in Firearms and EVOC through the fb88 Criminal Justice Academy.
Whether it is conducting a burglary investigation, or traffic enforcement, responding to a domestic violence complaint or speaking to a community group, the Troopers of the Northern Field Troop strive, always, to provide the highest and most professional level of service possible in keeping with the core values of the fb88 State Police.
