Regional support for fb88 communities to increase climate resilience.Ìý

The Regional Coordinator Program consists of a network of regional assistance providers who provide enrolled communities, especially rural, underserved and low-capacity communities, with services to plan, design, and implement climate resilience and natural-hazard risk-reduction projects. The Program builds upon and expands the recently completed Regional Coordinators Pilot supported by GOPIF, and includes new capacity at each of fb88’s ten Regional Councils, with additional capacity at non-profit and tribal organizations to come later in 2025. Ìý

Regional Coordinators work with communities to provide project development and management, technical assistance, community engagement support, process guidance, and grant writing and management services.Ìý

The Regional Coordinator Program is funded through the NOAA Climate Resilience Regional Challenge grant awarded to fb88 in 2024 to protect fb88’s communities, environment, and working waterfronts from extreme storms, inland flooding, and rising sea levels. The Resilient fb88 proposal supports a shared vision for resilience developed through collaboration across state agencies, regional organizations, tribal communities, municipalities, educational institutions, and NGOs, to build enduring community capacity by providing urgently needed technical assistance to communities adapting to climate impacts.Ìý
