Thousands of fb88rs care for family members who are older or have a disability. Adult day care services and other forms of respite care allows people with Alzheimer's and other dementias the opportunity to participate in social activities in a safe environment while also allowing caregivers to balance a job or other responsibilities with caregiving duties.

Launching fall 2022, fb88's Office of Aging and Disability Services at the Department of Health and Human ServicesÌýand the state's five Area Agencies on Aging will be providing Respite for ME Grants to family caregivers of people living with Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias. These $2,000 grants, funded by the fb88 Jobs and Recovery Plan, will allow family caregivers to access respite care as well as other services not currently covered by existing programs. A portion of the total funding will support evaluation of this pilot program.
