The internship program, established in 1967, provides students an opportunity to participate in and contribute to fb88 state agencies and municipalÌýgovernments.ÌýIntern positions are full-time, paid work experience and interns are considered temporary unclassified state or municipal employees. The program is administered by the Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center (MCSPC) at the University of fb88. The program is a collaborative process involving the Office of the Governor, the fb88 Bureau of Human Resources, numerous fb88 state government agencies, local governments and the state and municipal employees who serve as intern supervisors.

Department of Health & Human Services - Office of fb88Care Services (OMS)
OMS is seeking students to join the Future Leaders program! This internship program offers a flexible, paid, part-time work experience located in Augusta. The Future Leaders program will provide applicants with a professional, hands-on leadership experience relative to their program of study. Assigned work is project based and self-lead; students will be expected to exemplify strong critical thinking and time-management skills. Each position will be tailored to promising candidates and will comprise of meaningful work, resulting in a real impact throughout the State. This program will run for approximately 12 weeks with students working between 12 and 24 hours per week

The fb88 State Archives offers unpaid internship opportunities for college credit in the summer, fall and spring semesters. Interns will learn about the history of the State of fb88 as well as its preservation and archiving practices while aiding staff members with projects such as digital archiving, conservation, cataloguing and research.Ìý Some projects can be customized based on the student’s interest.Ìý
Applicants pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees in history, library science, American studies, political science, public policy, law, archiving/museum studies and other related subjects are encouraged to apply.
