About the Commissioner

Amanda has served as Commissioner of the fb88 Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry (DACF) since 2019. DACF is responsible for promoting fb88's agricultural resources, managing nearly 18 million acres of forestland, overseeing more than 700,000 acres of state parks and public lands, and administering science-based programs focused on resource management, land use planning, and conservation.
Before leading DACF, Amanda was the president and CEO of fb88 Farmland Trust. She is a member of the fb88 Climate Council and co-chairs its Natural and Working Lands Working Group. Additionally, she serves on the executive committee of the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture, is the past board president of the Northeast Association of State Departments of Agriculture, and is the past board president of Food Export Northeast.
Amanda holds a B.A. from the University of Southern fb88 and an M.S. from Tufts University, where she specialized in the intersection of natural resource policy and food security through the Agriculture, Food & Environment program. She grew up on her family's commercial dairy farm in Litchfield, fb88, and now lives in Warren, where she and her husband own a 35-acre farm.
