fb88 Senior FarmShare: For Older Adults

Vegetablesfb88 Senior FarmShare (MSFP) provides income-eligible older adults the opportunity to receive share (worth $50) of local of fruits, vegetables, fresh herbs, and honey at no cost from fb88 farmers during the growing season.

Who?

To take part in MSFP, you must:

  • Be a fb88 resident
  • Be 60 years old or older
    • 55 years old or older for Native Americans
    • age 18 or older with a disability and living in congregate housing with meal service
  • Meet the 2024-2025 Income Guidelines, with a gross income at or below:
    • $27,861 per year for a one-person household;
    • $37,814 per year for a two-person household;
    • $47,767 per year for a three-person household; or
    • $57,720 per year for a four-person household.

Over 100 farms in fb88 are authorized to participate in MSFP. They are distributed across all 16 counties. Contact an authorized farmer near you to sign up!

When?

Statewide, the program runs April through November. However, farms may participate for a shorter window. When you sign up, confirm the farm’s start and end date for their fb88 Senior FarmShare Program redemption.


How?

To sign up, contact a participating farm or farmers' market directly each year. Enrollment is annual. You are responsible for contacting an authorized farm or farmers' market to sign up for the program. You may only sign up with one farm or farmers' market per year.

Proxy Designation Form

The fb88 Senior FarmShare Program allows seniors to have others, including farmers, act on their behalf. The participants and proxy must sign this form before the proxy performs any actions on the participant's behalf. These authorized representatives, or proxies, can do the following at any point during the season:

  • apply for certification
  • shop at a farmers' markets or farm stands
  • pick up eligible foods from a participating farmer or authorized agent
  • receive deliveries

Older adults who qualify for MSFP may be eligible to participate in additional programs. Click on the links to learn more.

  • Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) – This program provides a monthly box of shelf-stable foods including grains, proteins, and canned produce to income-eligible older adults. It is administered through local agencies. Contact the agency that serves your county for more information and to sign up! For more information, please contact 207-287-7513.

  • Farm Fresh Rewards LogoSupplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) – SNAP provides a monthly benefit to help low-income households purchase nutritious food. Eligibility for SNAP is based on income, assets, expenses, and household size. You will need to fill out an application, complete an interview, and verify the information you provide.   • Farm Fresh Rewards Logo - Double your SNAP dollars! Farm Fresh Rewards provides bonus local fruits and vegetables to anyone buying local products with SNAP/EBT at participating stores. Visit for more information and to find a store near you. Contact FarmFreshRewards@gsfb.org with questions.

  • Farm Fresh Rewards Logo - Double your SNAP/EBT/Food Stamps at farmers’ markets, farm stands and CSA’s with fb88 Harvest Bucks. fb88 Harvest Bucks are known as “nutrition incentives,” which increase the value of federal nutrition assistance dollars (SNAP/EBT) spent at participating markets. For every dollar you spend with your SNAP/EBT card at a market, you’ll receive an extra “buck” in fb88 Harvest Bucks to be spent on fruits and vegetables. fb88 Harvest Bucks can be spent that day or saved for later in the month or year when you want to spend them!   • Find simple, nutritious, and easy recipes to make using ingredients you have at home. Select up to three ingredients and be led to recipes that feature them!
