The Office of Aging and Disability Services in collaboration with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) fb88, is excited to announce a virtual training opportunity on Mental Health First Aid scheduled for May 1, 2023. This training is for caregivers providing care to members receiving services under Section 19 of the fb88Care Benefits Manual. Caregivers can include personal support staff, attendants, home health aides, nurses or other natural and family supports.

At the direction of Governor Janet Mills, the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has developed and executed a variety of programs to address the shortage of qualified health care workers in fb88. These initiatives were developed in collaboration with health system leaders to grow the talent pipeline and develop new workforce models to advance health equity and health care access in rural and other under-served populations. This work is centered around three key areas of focus: Recruitment, training and career ladders, and growing the provider pipeline.
Earlier this year, the Department made changes to Section 28 rates and modifier combinations as a result of recent rate studies conducted in relation to P.L. 2021 Ch. 398, Pt. AAAA; Ch. 635, Pt JJJ; and Ch. 639.
PCPlus providers will receive their first quality performance reports in April 2023. These reports aggregate performance at the practice level for available measures. Providers will receive these initial reports via email through the contact listed in their PCPlus application.
