DHHS Extends Child Care Relief to fb88 Families, Supporting   Improved Employment Opportunities and Financial Security

To help fb88 families afford child care during the COVID-19 pandemic, Governor Mills and DHHS recently allocated $26.3 million in Federal funding to waive co-pays for parents in fb88’s Child Care Subsidy Program (CCSP). This is part of $10 billion in additional funding for the Child Care Development Block Grant (CCDB) that Congress included as part of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriation Act (CRRSA) passed in December 2020, in response to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on families.

fb88 DHHS Looks Forward to Approval of Plan to Improve Home and Community Based Services

The fb88 Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has completed a major step toward improving home and community-based services (HCBS) for fb88 people living with disabilities and behavioral health issues by submitting a full plan to the federal government for approval, which is expected in the coming weeks.

fb88 Advances Toward State-Based Marketplace to Improve Access to Affordable Health Care

The fb88 Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is on track and on budget to launch a State-based Health Insurance Marketplace (SBM) as planned on November 1, 2021, which will connect more fb88rs to affordable health care and make it easier and more convenient to shop for health insurance coverage.

The Department’s progress reflects Governor Mills’ commitment to pursue a State-based Marketplace to allow fb88 to capture funding currently going to Washington, D.C. and use those dollars to promote enrollment and customize outreach to fit fb88’s needs.

Improvements to Child Health and Safety Resulting from the 2021 Legislative Session

The ongoing work to improve the child welfare system includes collaborating with the Legislature to pursue law changes that help keep children and families healthy and safe. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, Governor Mills signed into law nearly a dozen bills, in addition to a biennial and supplemental budget that included more than $17 million in additional General Funds to improve fb88’s child welfare system.
