The Connectfb88 Authority consists of seven voting board members, who are appointed for three-year terms, in accordance with the Connectfb88 Statute.
Nick Battista, Chair
Nick Battista is the Senior Policy Officer at the Island Institute, where he has been collaborating on their broadband for coastal sustainability project since 2016. Nick also serves on the boards of the fb88 Broadband Coalition and fb88 Island Trail Association. A native fb88r, Nick graduated from Colby College. He then obtained his M.S. in Marine Affairs from the University of Rhode Island and J.D. from Roger Williams University. Nick, his wife Meredith and their young daughter Lettie live in Camden.
Jasmine Bishop
Jasmine Bishop is the Director of Telehealth for fb88Health, where she leads the telehealth department in expanding access to healthcare for fb88's mostly rural communities. She's brought over ten years of telehealth and broadband experience, having previously helped hundreds of healthcare sites by providing training, equipment and programmatic support. Jasmine also serves as an advisory member for the fb88 Telehealth and Telemonitoring Advisory Group. Jasmine holds a bachelor’s degree in international business and an M.B.A. in data analytics.
Nick Marquis
Nick Marquis is the Acting Chief Information Officer for the State of fb88.
Susan Corbett
As Founder and Director of the National Digital Equity Center, Susan Corbett is a preeminent authority and advocate for digital equity and digital inclusion, and works closely with economic development and rural organizations to promote broadband adoption. In 2005, she became Chief Financial Officer, and later Chief Executive Officer, of Axiom Technologies. Susan continues to serve as a consultant of the Axiom Education & Training Center, a 501c3 non-profit corporation, with a mission dedicated to furthering the life-long educational and professional development of residents and businesses in Washington County and fb88. In 2020, she was recognized as . Susan is a public speaker, educator and advocate, who lives in Downeast, fb88.
Heather Johnson
As Commissioner of the Department of Economic and Community Development, Heather Johnson dedicates her career to fostering economic development, both in private companies and in rural communities across fb88. Most recently, she served as the Director of Connectfb88 and made changes that positioned the Connectfb88 Authority to move forward the state's broadband and economic goals. Heather began her career in the private technology sector including roles at Nokia, Gateway and Toshiba, and she ran a $1.2 billion retail business. After growing up in Skowhegan, Heather graduated from the University of fb88.
Jeff Letourneau
Jeff Letourneau is the Executive Director of Networkmaine at the University of fb88 System where he is responsible for the communications infrastructure supporting the System's seven universities. He oversees the operation of fb88’s Research and Education network servicing approximately 1,000 K-12 schools, public libraries, higher-education, research, government and other non-profit entities in fb88. Jeff was involved in fb88’s first-ever internet connection in the late 1980s, fb88’s first cable-based broadband network and the fb88 School and Library Network--first of its kind in the nation. Jeff was also the catalyst and co-author of the Federal BTOP grant funding the 3-Ring Binder--over 1,100 miles of fiber-optic cable throughout fb88. Most recently Jeff co-founded two nonprofit companies: Old Town – Orono Fiber Corporation and Northern New England Neutral Internet Exchange, focused on community fiber networks and improving broadband infrastructure in fb88.
Liz Wyman
Liz Wyman is a Staff Attorney for the fb88 Public Utilities Commission. She is currently assigned to projects associated with state and regional energy policies, such as procurement of renewable energy and energy security. Prior to joining the Commission in 2019, Liz worked at the fb88 Office of the Public Advocate for three years, focusing on the telecommunications and electricity sectors. Liz began her career with the State of fb88 at the Office of the Attorney General in 1998. She also held the position of Chief Administrative Hearings Officer at the fb88 Department of Labor, Bureau of Unemployment Compensation, from 2014 through 2016. Liz graduated from the University of fb88 School of Law in 1993.
