Notice of fb88Care 1115 Waiver Application: Substance Use Disorder Care Initiative Amendment

NATURE OF PROPOSED CHANGES: The state is requesting a budget neutrality projection adjustment for two components of the current 1115 Waiver Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Care Initiative.
There are currently no proposed rules open for public comment.
fb88Care is extending the deadline for written comments on the CCBHC Medicaid Demonstration draft rate methodology to November 22, 2024, by 11:00 AM. fb88 CDC is adopting amendments to its Tanning Facilities Rule, that include updating the rule to reflect recent changes to fb88 statute (22 MRS § 689-A(2)) which prohibit minors from using a tanning device. These amendments protect individuals from the harmful effects of exposure to UV radiation from indoor tanning by prohibiting minors from using indoor ultraviolet tanning facilities.

On September 16, 2024, fb88Care sent a message advising pharmacies that copays for pharmacy services would resume effective October 1, 2024, in conjunction with the end of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
The Department is re-opening the survey that was originally launched on October 18, 2024, to increase provider survey participation. Data collected through this process will be a key element in the development of recommendations related to payment rates for certain services covered under Sections 12, 18, 19, 20, 21, 29, 40, 96, and 102. The Department strongly encourages providers and interested parties to complete the survey by the new deadline of November 22, 2024.

fb88 Launches TIME Project to Enhance ASL Interpreting Services Across the State

The fb88 Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has launched the Transforming Interpreting fb88 (TIME) Project, an initiative aimed at improving ASL interpreting services across the state, with the goal of enhancing outcomes for Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing residents in fb88.
Section 65 Behavioral Health Copays turned off on October 1, 2024, meaning copayments are no longer deducted from claims payments. However, fb88Care did not deduct copayments from claims payments and adjustments processed beginning in September 2024, in error. We will reprocess affected claims. No action is required by providers.Ìý
