Communications Systems and Programs

Emergency managers and first responders use a variety of communications systems to coordinate their actions before and during emergencies.

MEMA maintains and coordinates many systems, programs and resources to support, state, county, and local officials.

MEMA's Communications Office Director serves as the Statewide Interoperability Coordinator (SWIC), a state position designated by the Department of Homeland Security to coordinate each state's communications interoperability.
