Purpose

The Real Estate Commission was established to protect the public through the regulation of the real estate industry in fb88. It is charged with the duty of supervising real estate licensees in a manner to ensure that they meet standards which will promote public understanding and confidence in the business of real estate brokerage.

The primary responsibilities of the Commission are to license qualified applicants as real estate agencies, real estate brokers, real estate associate brokers, and sales agents, to investigate alleged violations of the law, impose sanctions, and prescribe curricula and standards for real estate education programs.

Real Estate Commission Remote Participation Policy- policy was approved at the April 20, 2023 meeting.

NOTICE CONCERNING DELIVERY OF REAL ESTATE COMMISSION LICENSES
Beginning on March 1, 2016, Real Estate Commission licenses will be delivered via email.Active licenseswill be delivered to affiliated licensees’ designated brokerat the agency email addresson file with the Commission.Agency licenseswill also be emailed to the agency email address.Inactive licenseswill be delivered to licensees’ email address on file with the Commission.
The email sender is displayed as “noreply@maine.gov” and the subject as “YOUR OFFICIAL (license type) LICENSE IS ATTACHED”. Paper licenses will NOT be mailed for licensees with an email address on file.

Effective April 1, 2025 the Real Estate Commission core course requirement is “Reasonable Care and Diligence Core Course”.
