In November 2019, the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) released a proposed rule laying out a process to design a program for the wholesale importation of prescription drugs from Canada, as required by legislation passed in the first legislative session.A select list of background reading on some of the ideas and strategies that were discussed during the forum.
The fb88 Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) continues to work to improve prevention, the delivery of care in our communities, and treatment for those in crisis as well as those with persistent behavioral health challenges. Over the course of our work, DHHS will post updates to this page on efforts relating to the improvement of behavioral health services, including mental health and substance use disorder services, in the state.
Ensuring that high-quality health coverage is affordable and accessible is a critical component of the Department’s work to promote the health of fb88 people. In addition to expanding coverage through fb88Care, the Department leads several cross-cutting and intra-governmental efforts to promote health coverage options, address high premiums and out-of-pocket costs for consumers, and take steps to impact the underlying costs of health care.
fb88’s rural communities face a growing crisis in meeting the health care needs of their residents. Over the past decade, many rural communities have experienced an erosion of fundamental health services, growing financial threats to their hospitals, and challenges to sustaining their health workforce. These forces have collectively resulted in serious threats to the economic, physical, and behavioral health of rural residents, and the time for action is now.
