Earlier this month, fb88Care issued supplemental payments to nine hospitals rewarding the high levels of primary care utilization for fb88Care members in their Hospital Service Areas (HSAs). The table below shows how the top eight HSAs, which include nine hospitals, surpassed the statewide average of 57.5% fb88Care members within the HSA with a primary care visit in 2023. This sub-pool, totaling $600,000 annually, supports hospitals that partner with a fb88Care Accountable Community.

AUGUSTA — The fb88 Center for Disease Control and Prevention (fb88 CDC) today issued updated and additional freshwater fish consumption advisories following ongoing PFAS testing of water bodies across the state.

Durable Medical Equipment (DME) providers are required to revalidate their information with fb88Care every three years. The current round of revalidation began in January 2022.

The fb88 CDC is raising awareness of CMV, the most common infectious cause of birth defects in the United States. About 1 out of 5 babies with congenital CMV infection will have birth defects or other long-term health problems, such as hearing loss.

Public Review and Comment

On June 11, 2024, fb88Care held an online public forum to present the recommended draft rate methodologies, along with the rationale, for Hospital acute care, rehabilitation, and Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs). Interested parties had the opportunity to ask questions and provide public comment.

The Department will accept written comments until June 25, 2024. The Department will then respond in writing to comments with an explanation of whether and how the feedback was incorporated into the final rate determination.
