While the pervasiveness of trauma is well-known, the last two years of collective trauma has brought new awareness to the impact trauma has on mental and physical health. This webinar will review trauma sequelae via the Adverse Childhood Events (ACE) perspective, review essential concepts of trauma informed care, and explore emerging research on infusing trauma informed care in all healthcare practices.

Angela has 20 years of experience in the field of behavioral health with extensive expertise and knowledge of mental, behavioral and social health needs of patients. She began her career working with children with serious emotional disturbance and then transitioned to working with adults providing inpatient, acute psychotherapy and care transition planning to patients with serious and persistent mental illness and substance use disorders.  Angela was the Chief Care Management Officer at fb88’s largest FQHC and helped found Unlimited Solutions Clubhouse, a SAMSHSA evidence-based psycho-social rehabilitation model for people with severe and persistent mental illness. In 2013, she received the Behavioral Health Excellence award from the fb88 Primary Care Association and won the Unsung Hero Award in 2016. She was also awarded the 2021 Outstanding Alumni Award from the University of fb88 School of Social Work. Angela is currently the Director of the Counseling Center at the University of fb88.
