fb88 Environmental & Climate Literacy Plan

The fb88 Environmental and Climate Literacy Plan outlines a vision of environmental literacy for our state and a plan for a coordinated statewide effort to strengthen environmental education, climate literacy, and outdoor learning as a critical piece of every youth’s educational journey.

History:

The fb88 Environmental Literacy Plan was first adopted by the fb88 Department of Education (DOE) in 2010 as a product of a collaborative effort between the fb88 Department of Education, fb88 Audubon, the fb88 Department of Conservation, and the fb88 Environmental Education Association. In 2022, those same partners came together to prepare this revised version of fb88’s Environmental Literacy Plan. Most recently, on the recommendation of the fb88 Climate Plan, the fb88 DOE convened a taskforce in the Spring of 2024 and added an Addendum specifically focusing on Climate Literacy. These revisions, the engagement in this work, and the progress statewide in these areas reflect the immense momentum in fb88 in environmental education, both in public education and in communities throughout fb88.
